Harrison Birtwistle: Notes from the End of a Garden

Commissioned by Sinifini (a Universal Music website), this short film was shot over a few days at his house in Wiltshire with the composer Sir Harrison Birtwistle. Harry was in the process of composing a piano concerto and allowed me to film his work and life to create an intimate portrait of his creative process.

Filmed to coincide with Harry’s 80th birthday celebration concert series and the Wild Tracks interview book by Fiona Maddox, the film was launched at the Barbican in Late May 2014.
